I feel awful for anyone who struggles through any problem like this; not just addiction but any problem. It's compounded by the fact that many people are incapable of understanding the difficulties people can go through, robbing them of the support they need, which is something that the author touches on. 

[Update]: Is it wrong to find someone struggling with sex addiction kind of cute?
